Improving Q-Form Kickpanels

My midbass went from sounding semi hollow and punchy to quit *** rocking lol. When i dropped my XXX's in and took out the Vifa's it sounded like i had a pair of 8"s up front:D. The problem with that is the tweeter's kept popping out of their hole lol. When I did mine I actually attached the glass from the back around to the front as I knew it wouldn't stick to plastic well. I wrapped it all the way around to try and make it as strong as possible that way. It worked well i must say.
what do u mean?....im having trouble visualizing it

the idea behind making Q-forms sound better...is adding mass to the plastic...your best bet is to do a layer of damping material...then a thick layer of non hardening modeling clay....

enclosing any driver larger than a 4 in that tiny little space is the worst thing you can do since 90% of drivers are designed to work free air....

i may consider this as an option.....esp since i am dreading doing the fiberglass........but it seems like adding modeling clay n dynamat would leave little to no space......is that good?

all your doing is adding 2 layers of material to the backside...your not loosing much

i think i'll jus build up the insides then and leave them open.....it seemsmuch easier and then if i dont like it i can always try sealing em later.....if i sealed em right away i wouldnt be able to unseal em if i didnt like em so this is prolly the betetr option to try first.....thanx again for everyone's input

When people drill a sizeable hole in the back of their kicks that vent into the carpet, is that to simulate an IB-like situation? j/w
