wire the amp down to a lower ohm load? always worked for me, but depends if the amp could handle it though

I just finished wiring my setup of (4) DVC 4ohm 15's in a 16 cube box that was wired to 2ohm, down to .5ohm

@ 2ohm in theory I was giving them about 500ish a piece, but they never ever got smelly or warm and I assumed with rise I was above atleast 3ohm, but am unsure of how to check.

So I just wired to .5, hoping with rise Ill be in the safe zone and throwin out some real power

Probably gonna have to beef up my alt when I fire it up in the morning!!

Any guess what I would be rising to when wired to .5?

^^ most of the posts ive seen say it will rise 2.8 to 1, so if u wired them at 0.5 it will rise to 1.5 ohm worst cases

Well Ive only ever run it @ 2ohm, but its a modded visonik vx4000D, I dont know if modding it only allows 1ohm or what though

if it has good protectin circuit it wont POP

I dont think it does, dont know a thing about that. I know its mosfets bite the dust in the 10's
