imma noob... advise on tweeters?

I don't like Pioneer speakers other than some of their PRS stuff. But that's me; you might disagree. The Dayton ND28F is okay. Definitely not as good as the Seas, and watch out because it doesn't have a grill and will be VERY easy to damage beyond repair if you don't put it behind a grill. It may well be good enough for you. I think it would satisfy most people. Me, I am SUPER picky. I'm planning to upgrade from my already-good Seas Neo tweeters to even-better Scan Speak at some point.

Gah. Don't say that. I really can't spend the money on new tweeters right now, as tempting as it is! On some of the home theater forums I'm on, people use the term "upgraditis." It's not like I really have that much of a reason to get them otherwise...

and still nobody has answered my q on the 0 db -3 db -6db and so on setting on my crossovers question.
Many passive xovers allow for you to attenuate the output of your tweeters for tuning purposes, which is what you are describing. 0db is no attenuation, -3db is a 3db attenuation, etc. Its pretty common.

To add to this; If you get a tweeter that is rated at 90db then you can select -3 to bring it back in line with the 87db mid. This is just a start. Try different settings to see which one you like.
