Image Dynamics power requirements

I'm looking into getting a single 12" sub for my 240sx. I have a really old amp ( Pioneer GM-X962 Pioneer GM-X962 (gmx962) Discontinued Car Audio & Video Z. Discontinued Products - Sonic Electronix) and was wondering if this would be sufficient to power an Image Dynamics New IDQ12v2D4.

I've read through the forums and it seems that ID gets thrown out as a suggestion quite a bit. I'm looking for something that can handle longer drawn out bass. Something that can go really deep. I listen to mainly indie music/ambient/electronicish music, but rarely anything in the metal/rock arena (no double bass or quick drumming is what i'm getting at)

If you guys have any better suggestions I'd really appreciate the information.

On a side note, I'd like to build my own box for this sub. Should I go ported or sealed? Can anyone point me in the direction of good plans?

I've also looked at the Audioque SDC2.512-D4s and the 12" Lethal Injection Series by Incriminator Audio.

Any suggestions?

ya that power would be ok for one idq12, if your goin just one sub i'd say go d2 so you can wire to a 4 ohm load to the amp in mono. i'd recommend a ported box for what you listen too.

Thanks for the info.

I'm bad about reading too much and having an information overload. Its hard for me to decide on a sub being as there's so many options.
