Image Dynamics or Memphis

No I do not all I was trying to say is to think that a company in trouble is going to inform you of this while you are inquiring about buying a product is just not gonna happen. Unless it’s a furniture store.
Ive seen no evidence that the company is in trouble, only that the founder has been pushed out.

I would claisfy that as trouble. The guy that started the company and made it what it is today is gone. Dosent sound good so i would have to claisfy that as not a good thing.
I agree. But the question is about ID going out of business, not if I agree with its current business plans.

ID partnered up with Power Bass a few years back. The partnership went sour and Eric left ID (Eric is ID's founder and his horns will leave with him) as well as most of ID's original employees. Image Dynamics as we know it will not exist, the company is moving into Power Bass' headquarters and they will share pieces. Power Bass' will continue to develop and maintain Image Dynamics, which isn't a good thing. Eric is supposed to be doing something else with ID's former employees soon. So, essentially, Image Dynamics and PowerBass are the same company now, instead of a partnership.

What about a IA flatlyne 15" or 18"?
ohh i forgot about this one, its probably one of the best sounding speakers that ive heard and it get loud i loved my 12 but only had it for a few weeks since someone offered me like a few hundred more than what i paid for it when i said i wouldnt ever sell it. only reason im running memphis right now is because of dealer accommodation. but out of these two its say memphis.

m-class for punchy bass

c3 for low end extension with good punch

both great subs

how do you like them? im not sure if i want them that ridiculously loud. although i do like the crisp clear sound
I installed an 18 dB bass knob. I am not a big fan of them and uuuuusssuuuallly do not suggest them, but it is very handy when the Five-0 is rolling up on your a$$ and you need to cut the bass down quick. With my stealth install they never pin a "Noise Ordinance" on me. I picked up the pair for

I was actually in your shoes looking at the Mojo as well. The cu ft space, power and output was not in my setup game plan, so I nixed the Mojo idea and went with the M class. I was very impressed with their performance.

Never ran ID, but a co-worker of mine runs a single 12 and its loud enough and has good sound quality. I have run Memphis Mojo 12 and up to 3 of them. Let me tell you Memphis Mojo'scan get loud, very loud, but they are a very musical sub, so they do have good SQ as well. There are some better SQ subs than either of the two you asked about though. As you already know the best SQ sub is only as good as the enclosure it is in.

ID is awesome. We will see how the company turns out, but I still recommend the IDmaxv3. I have run IDQ and IDmax, and the IDmax is amazing. The sq is fantastic, I was able to achieve a very flat response curve in ~1.1cuft sealed, and ~1.75cuft @ 28hz was very loud with a nice flat response also (sealed box sound better with a little less output). I would not hesitate buying ID.

what is a better set up for sound quality?
Sound quality? Dayton Reference and IDQ are two great choices. IDMax is good but is not the SQ line. Don't assume that just because the SQ sub is cheaper, that the more expensive subs are automatically going to win. ID does not use a really good motor like XBL^2. The increased excursion of IDMax is going to come at the expensive of linearity and SQ.

You can also go for XBL^2 and underhung drivers like Exodus Audio, Creative Sound Solutions, Stereo Integrity, etc. If you don't mind the awful marketing of IA, you can go for Flatlyne - underhung, should sound good.

FLAT RESPONSE DOES NOT EQUAL SOUND QUALITY. It is very important - I'd even say the most important factor, but it is far from the only factor. In fact, without a linear motor and suspension, your frequency response is going to change with volume - potentially a lot. And I do not just mean the gain you have set, but also as the woofer cycles through the waveform coming in.

IDMax sounds fine, but it's not a SQ sub. It does not sound as good as any of the other drivers I mentioned. Will it be good enough? Maybe. For most people, definitely. I HAVE recommended it to some people in some situations, though I am not sure that I'll continue to do so with the future of ID going where it's going.
