Had my RE SE 12"s runnin for 2 weeks, very satisfied, but the last week I have noticed it doesnt seem as loud to me anymore. I know it is cuz friends and people at work are always sayin how loud it is still. But to me it dont quite sound what it used to be. I must be goin deaf. Cuz my setup has the SE firing and the port aimin into the cabin, I know I got alot of volume, I dont know how much havnt gottin it metered, and there aint no comp commin soon, and no one around has their own mic cept for the audio shops, but I doubt they will set it up just for me.

Anywayz, I think im goin deaf. Its got enough SPL to make it hard to breath at peak hits.

Your getting used to it, so it seems not as loud.

Probably damaging your hearing a little too....Though they say that the higher frequencies are more harmful to the human ear.....

yep, you're getting used to it alright, in my own experiences every setup I've had seems crazy loud for a week or two, then my hearing gets adjusted and acquired (or damaged) and I start to question how loud it really is. So the best way to solve the problem is to either give your ears a break and go a little while without listening to it, a couple days or so, or sit in a friends car with a sh!tty azz system and listen to their system so you'll then realize how loud you really are, and of course you can always upgrade, trust me, this a very normal phase you are going through

I kind of force myself to not listen to it very loud, and it still seems pretty loud to me. But I find myself turning the bass up more often now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

when i got my system installed, after a few weeks i had trouble hearing at work, it was crazy, everyone thought i was ate up when they asked me a question, i would always ask what?, but my amp blew, waiting on it getting fixed, my hearing is back.

I usually have the bass down to -6dB on my hu, goin to or from work, but when I go to town to "pimp", i ride slow, stick on a good bass song and notch the bass up to 0dB. Or like when im showin it off, but usually thats almost all the time. I dont always listen full bore, but sometimes its nice to, and my hell its awesome!

yeah daily driving i have my sub set to -10, when i want to show off i turn it to 0, when i first got em i always had em up loud, but i was saying what? alot so i decided to turn it down, sound great sq wise now to //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I usually keep it on -4 for rap, and around -1 for rock. -4 on rock songs just isnt enough to keep up with my comps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif .

Showing off is at -2, or 0.

And when I feel like rattling the shit out of my trunk, +4 is the number.
