im stumped

just installed 2 12" Kicker L7s on a Memphis mcd1500 ran at 4 ohms. Used 1/0 wire from front batt to trunk and from ground to trunk and than converted to 4 ga so that it would fit in the amp.. Everything has worked fine for 6 days but today everything would just shut off (cd player,amp) for about 2 secs and than come back on.

I have ordered 1/0 to 4 ga terminals off ebay just waiting on them but I didnt know how much that would affect it. My voltage stays around 12.3 v

Any suggestions?

They all check out,, even grinded down the ground a little more to make sure it was bare metal,, I am using the bracket that the back seat bolts to in order to hold it in place,, is this a fine spot or should I move it?

Looks like im spendin tomorrow running another run of 1/0 to the negative on the batt since there is no better spot.. Will try it out and post with results

The voltage is at 12.3 with the car running? If it is then it is definietly your ground.

I would have said it was your ground anyway. There HAS to be a better spot to ground to then the battery. What about right below the bolt?

Also, if you aren't using terminals and your "Conversion" has wires sticking out then even one strand could short and cause the amp to turn off.
