im so frusterated please help

here is my problem,

i spent 2 days hooking everything up. I was being careful on where i ran everything. RCAs are on the opposite side of the truck from the power and grounds. Sounded great the first time we played it to tune it in. shut my truck of to clean the garage so i can pull my truck out. turned it back on and i lost sound out of 2 or my tweeters and the door speakers didnt sound as loud. So i took it to the nearest car audio store and the guy hooked rcas from an external source to my amp....SOUNDED better doors sounded way loude(not sure if all the tweeters were on but it was way louder.), hooked mine back up and lost the tweeters again, and the doors lowered again. so i went home and hooked my ipod up to my amp via a rca to headphone cable...... still didnt have the tweeters can anyone help me on solving my problem? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Sounds like the head unit settings are wrong to me.

if it was the head unit then it would have worked with my ipod hooked directly to my amp instead of the rcas right? ill try rewiring it again tommarow but could it be anything else? i mean because this will be the second time that ive rewired it..... but when we were tuning it in there was this really loud screach like an electronic screach would that have anything to do with it. it was so loud and high pitched that it gave us an instant headache, but they still worked till i shut my truck off. im sorry if im asking stupid questions but this is my first big system

im putting money on blown.

what if i took them out and just hooked them up to a bookshelf stereo just to see if they play and they do is there any other reason it would do that?
