Yeah, it is now... torn apart in the garage, awaiting the transformation into a purpose built rally car!

And to you it may be ugly, and it is a bit over the top for some, but the splitter on the front was functional, the wing on the trunk (not shown in the pictures) was functional, and the supertrapps on the back were an awesome tunable exhaust!

The SVT Contour, especially in stock versus stock form, against a 240, is like mike tyson fighting aunt jemima. The SVT Contour had an amazing suspension which made the car extremely fun to drive, it has class, luxury, performance, and exclusivity over the 240, let alone the fact that it is a coyote in sheeps clothing! The only people who would perfer a 240 is someone who has never driven a SVT and is only thinking contour, or a 17 year old kid who watched fast and the furios a few too many times!
Anyone who thinks this car is not for a real enthusiast has never driven one... and not jsut to the grocery store.

As far as saying they are ugly, I think that is childish. The car has a very grown up look, and doesnt appear to be made of plastic like some cars mentioned in this thread!

Again, i challenge you to actually drive one of these cars before being so quick to judge them! You'll find yourself scouring ebay, ceg, craigslist and autotrader to find one!

Like I said, it's a nice car to drive, just not my choice. I don't think it has a grown up look at all. I think it looks just like what it is, a factory-tuned econobox. Definitely one of SVT's better efforts, but not my taste. And I definitely think they look every bit as plasticy as any other ride.

However, once I get some mods on my Mazda3, I wouldn't mind taking one of these on on a track. Even stock, this car is a blast to drive. Great chassis for sure.

with that amount of cash, you should pick up a 98-02 Camaro z28 and use whatever cash you have left to mod your LS1. You could have 350-400hp doing all of your work by yourself and that would be NA as well.

I know they are fugly. That's all I need to know. All that matters is if the owner likes it. I can still have an opinion thiat it is shit and it be valid.
