Who would want to drive a contour over a 240sx????

comments like that make me lol. so do the looks on peoples faces when they get walked on by a"contour" you can find these cars for 3k and less sometimes even. they have 200hp stock full real leather int, power everything,sunroof etc.... plus they only had a production run of less than 12k over 3 yrs. You like driving a common car? I sure dont.......

I just hate that car. It's ugly and really doesn't have that much power( my little grocery getter mazda has 160 stock). I would rather customize a more common car to fit me than buy a car that looks like a million others, but is 1 of 12000 made. And if you like sleeper-ish cars like that, the Sentra SE-r I mentioned earlier is fantastic. Add a turbo onto the SR20 motor or swap out an SR20DET and you're looking at well over 200hp. Find the right deal, and you could bring in a very nice car for around $5-6k. These are also pretty friggin rare.

And I wouldn't exactly say the aforementioned 240sx was a common car. At least not around here. And they can be some of the funnest cars around. Lots of parts and customizing options available as well.

Those are pretty good cars, but I just think they're butt ugly. Hell, I picked up my '04 Mazda3 hatch for $10,800 after TTL and dealer fees. Would much rather have my car than that contour, even if it is slower.

your mazda have leather? when you go to walmart how many do you see in the parking lot? let me show you some of the svt contours i have owned in the past and the one I own currently.

Current ride: 1998 svt contour with a laundry list of mods nice comfortable and pretty **** quick.

I will admit the older ser that you mentioned will haul *** and are a sleeper to most of the unsuspecting car world but you cant tell me they arent ugly as sin. and like i mentioned above you get none of the nice plush interior or many of the options that are standard trim on the svt and you cant beat what you can pick a super nice one up for now days. Have you ever driven one? might want to give it a shot if you ever get the opportunity. You will be suprised.

The SVT Contour, especially in stock versus stock form, against a 240, is like mike tyson fighting aunt jemima. The SVT Contour had an amazing suspension which made the car extremely fun to drive, it has class, luxury, performance, and exclusivity over the 240, let alone the fact that it is a coyote in sheeps clothing! The only people who would perfer a 240 is someone who has never driven a SVT and is only thinking contour, or a 17 year old kid who watched fast and the furios a few too many times!

Anyone who thinks this car is not for a real enthusiast has never driven one... and not jsut to the grocery store.

As far as saying they are ugly, I think that is childish. The car has a very grown up look, and doesnt appear to be made of plastic like some cars mentioned in this thread!

Again, i challenge you to actually drive one of these cars before being so quick to judge them! You'll find yourself scouring ebay, ceg, craigslist and autotrader to find one!

Why yes it does. Full leather interior with perforated seat inserts. Great looking dash w/ 6 disc changer. AC, ABS, traction control, pretty much everything minus Navi. I live in a town of 20,000 people and only know of a couple others (the Mazda3 is their best selling car, but not many people seem to own the hatch).

I would get pics for you, but it's dark outside and I'm leaving on vacation in the morning. Unfortunately, besides body-matched wheels, my car is stock for now. Mods, including a full paint job, are in store for next summer hopefully.
