Im quitting smoking...

I am finding that I need something to keep my mind off the smoke. Either gum, chewing on a straw, or if a must using the Snus.
The weekend was easy not to smoke, Im at home and chilled. Today being the first day at work since quitting is going to be tough.
I was the same, when I was bored id smoke alot. I just set myself mentally one day, threw the pack out the window and never bout another one. I think its all about mind control...

I definitely need to quit, been smoking over 20 years and even though I smoke half a pack a day, I know its a waste of money and killing me slowly...good luck JD

NIce to hear. I quit in January after 7 years. It was weird though. I just stopped cold turkey and never looked back. I really wanted to stop so i guess it made it easier?? I thought it would be hard because my wife smokes but it wasn't. I feel much healthier and more refreshed. GL man!!

indeed. if you don't have somthing to take your mind off of it for the first month or so, it can be a tough one to brake.

quitting cold turkey is the way to go man.

good luck. it will take some time but don't give in, don't hang out with people when smokingor in smoking areas(I.E. co-workers all out on smoke breaks). it will make the temptation much worse.

x2 on the cold turkey, it's the best way. It's a tough first

2 weeks, but well worth it. For the first 6 months I kind

of missed it. But now, 10 years out I never want one.

Hey, good luck with the decision to quit!

I know what it's like, I'm in the process of quitting chewing tobacco now. I've been tobacco free for 23 days so far. I've tried many times in the past, but this time I'm not going back to tobacco.

My advice-get a group of friends for support. Avoid activities that make you want to smoke, along with identifying them, so you can avoid/prepare for them.

You'll be amazed how much better you feel after a few days. It's really unbelievable. The first few days are the hardest, but after you get past that, you will feel so much better and remember why you are quitting.

Good luck!

Good Luck with it!

I personally despise cigarettes but will occasionally smoke one when I drink. I can wake up the next morning and still taste that god awful taste.

Now if you can just work on that drinking and driving //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

when i quit smoking it wasn't tough, never got cravings, even went out with the smokers on there break to see if i craved one....but i do get strong cravings for chew. But i think in the last 4months with my cravings for chew, i just keep a pack of gum in the car and put a peice in every morning after i have my coffee and thats worked soo far.
