i have a clipping problem......if a deep bass note hits my amp goes into over current...i have to shut my radio off to reset it.....now i troubleshooted it and found my left rca imput is the problem....if i leave it out and only run the right rca everything is fine...now i wanted to know is this a easy fix? and is it ok if i only run my right rca...i am running my amp in mono and i wanted to know will it hurt the amp to run 1 rca or am i not getting full potential out of my amp by running 1 rca....thanks

maybe you should try some new rca's or if its the deck, have it checked out. if its the input on the amp, it can be repaired, but it might not be worth repairing depending on the amp. is everything still under warrenty.

check your speaker wiring, ohm out your speakers. your rca is not the problem, it just drives the amp hard enough to make it show up when it is plugged in. check all your wiring. you have something insufficient or loose. its not the rcas (sorry).

Make sure your sub is the right ohm

Make sure your amp is stable at that ohm

Make sure your power and ground wires are secure

Set your gains following the AMP tutorial

thanks guys....i'm wired @ 1.33333 ohms my amp is stable to 1 ohm.....and it only does it if i use the left rca jack i am running it on the right rca jack now and it sounds ok but would i need to use the left and the right simultainiously ?....will i damage my amp if i only use one?.....will it suffer the amps sound?...all my wires are tight......voltage is steady...what does over current mean on a amp...

hello? read my reply. not going to type it again when its a few inches straight up:) with only using the right channel input, your only getting half the voltage@ preamp stage to drive your amp.

if you can find the manual for the amp it may tell you that when runing on mono use only one of the rca inputs. since using both input channels the amp will actualy try to amplify both signals, it seeing double the voltage, is trying to put way to much power and clip clip clip the signal gets hacked by the lack of power from the power supply.
