I'm gonna regret asking this but...

and i'm telling you that it would be better to spend that money and just get the alt now, since you already have the sub and amp you want. if you had that much money to throw around, you likely wouldn't be driving a 15 yearold bimmer

Upgrading your ALT will likely be cheaper than buying either of those subs. Might as well get that out of the way and reach your goal sooner.

yes i agree.... ok heres the entire story....

I am in a bmw.. so if u dont know this there is a STEEL wall between my back seat and my trunk... so im planin on having that removed by a plasma cutter... then i will either construct or have some1 build me a box tuned to 32 hz that will have the sub facing up so i can fit a 18" sub in my trunk that is only 17.5 in tall.... so buying a new alt wouldnt really help me at this point because its goin to be quite a process.. for rite now i want good bass that i can cruis around in and juss bump in untill i start this process....

so yes it would be cheaper to just buy the alt if thats all i had to due... but i have to pay some1 to cut the wall out... pay some1 to build a box cuz if i build one it will prolly just bust out somewhere.... and then i will probably have to buy more wire and reinstall the ia 40.1 and the 2 kinetic batts i got powerin it....... So

thats where i sit and why i have asked the question i asked.... i just wish some1 could have answered the question might have been my fualt for not saying the entire story but i didnt think it was necessary thought SOME1 could have just answered the question i asked ... sry.....

Still curious by the way.... would the coil's stiffness have ne thing to do wit whether its output would be more or less louder then a sub wit a lower rated rms sub givin it a loser voice coil at the same watts.....

given the same conditions and same watts (1265) would a 2000 rated rms sub be louder then a 1500 rated rms sub or would the 1500 rated rms sub be louder then the 2000 rated rms sub???

well the car is in great condition just has too many miles on it and isnt worth sellin cuz i wont get wut its worth..... thats why im in that car.... i just bread my dog and i got 500 bucks cash... and i got 1000 in checkin for what ever and then i got another 3 grand in savings for future shlt then i got 6k in a mutual fund but i wont be spendin that... i got some1 locally who is willin to buy my L5's so i will be basically tradin my L5's for the XXX or MX and maybe 150 cash... THUS money isnt that bigo deal i jsut dont want to waste it ... theres a reason why i got this much cash while im still in high school and dont got a job... i dont waste a penny

well some1 was tellin me that a sub wit higher rms will have a stiff voice coil than a sub wit a lower rms at the same power so thats why i asked that so i might be labeling it wrong but still same question

under same conditions.... would a 2000watt sub be louder than a 1500 watt sub at 1265 watts or is it the other way around or would it not matter especially if its the sub is from the same company... idk thats why and what im askin

you have to understand that your questioned cant easily be answered. if you were comparing a funky pup to a BTL, then yes thats an obvious answer. but your talking about 2 good quality subs that are from the same company and are relatively close in power handleing. its all going to boil down to the install. if you were to do identical installs on both subs i would bet your wouldnt even notice any difference. i dont think the power handleing of the sub or the subs "stiffness" will have an effect on output (in this situation) but correct me if im wrong people.

Exactly... exactly what i was looking for... THANK YOU FATRYAN... u deserve an award lol

thats to the final exact most accurate point of what i was looking for

thank you....

now if ne one else has a reply to that.. or think he is wrong some where or if u agree ... post it thanks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

no prob //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

only thing im not 100% sure about is the stiffness factor. maybe someone else could confirm that

Well lets see if ne one else can understand what im askin now that u have given them of an example of what im lookin for

that we we can confirm ur statement or see if we both might be a lil mixed up about the stiffness thing ur the 2nd person that have said they dont think it would effect it but arent sure .... 3 ppl have said that there is a stiffness facet but shouldnt but that audible so that if i purchase the XXX it would be simply for the XXX on the cone lol but thats on a different forum and a couple of local ppl but the dumbshlts here dont know ne thing.. they are all hicks... nig rigin cd players so that the back speakers go into the sub slot and stupid idiot things like that... the ppl who WORK at the local car audio store had no idea what the big 3 was untill i explained it to them then they said it wouldnt make a difference lol professional car audio installers my A$$

sry i just hate this town lol... if ya cant tell
ha ha ha i know how you feel. i HATE the town i go to school in with a passion. theyre stupid fvcking rednecks who cant do anything right and are always trying to screw you over.

but to defend my answer, from a physics/engineering standpoint the effect that the stiffness of the subs would have on output givin the circumstances would seem so minimal it would basically be negligible.

thats what i was thinkin too just tryint to make sure and it turned out like this lol but thats exactly how it is here all these douches revin there big trucks and lil tuner cars havin *** wit their daughter and makin babies inbread red necks then have their retarded children set up their systems.... just aint smart

stores here didnt beleive me when i showed them my power cable... they thougt i bought it at a lamp/ electrical store... they think the biggest power cable used in car audio is 1 gauge and they are serious... its just stupid... i told them the fuses i needed and they said they dont have ne that big... like 250a fuse is the same as the tooth fairy.... and these are the kinda ppl that are installin systems down here
