well im fixing to go buy some subs for my truck as well as amps/box/etc and well i have no idea how to do this bridging amps that i keep hearing about on amps specifications

i know that you have to have 2 of the same amp, and also should i get 2 1 channels or 2 2 channels (im only adding 2 12's)

and 1 more thing im tryign to find some subs that wont KILL my wallet and will still hit bass lines very good and i am thinking of getting 2 of these

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=48613&item=5729861534&rd=1

that wouldnt be considered a rip off for the 200 bucks it will cost me will it?

Wow, you seem to have a lot to learn.

That brand, Audiobahn, is pretty much hated by everyone, for some reason. They get loud, but they dont really sound good at all. From what others have said.

You confused me when you said you only needed 2 1channels or 2 2channels.

im just wondering because if i bridge 2 2 channel amps wouldnt that make 4 chanels? or should i get 2 of the same kind of 1 channel amps and bridge them to go to 2 subs?

sorry if the questions sound really stupid i jsut really started learning about car audio about a week ago

you don't need two amps to bridge an amp... bridging an amp involves the channels on one amplifier that is not just any amplifier but a special amplifier that is bridgable to lets say 1 ohm.

well im getting 2 2000 watt subs = 4000 watts ive had no experience in doin gthis so im right now jsut shooting in the dark but i would liek to get 2 2000 watt amps and soem how let 1 amp power 1 sub and the other power the other so what could i do to take 2 2000 amps and let them = 4000 watts to fead the 4000 watts the subs will ****

is it jsut a special method of plugging the amps in or would i need to get some sort of thing that would alow me to do this

D@mn....I was almost done typing my response until I saw that these subs are dual 6 ohm voice coil //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/pissed.gif.9f665f96bc89e98e708dabd4580bb591.gif . Here's all I can tell you for now jack, You want an amp that is capable of pushing out 2000 watts at whatever final impedance you can get with that weird @ss impedance job. (Someone do the math and tell us the final load so we can help him out better).

You want something that will push 2000 watts b/c your subs call for 1000 watts RMS each(thats what you always look at, disregard any MAX power readings). You want them to push into ONE channel, b/c the frequencies that 'bass' is reproduced at is heard through one channel anyway, so it just makes more sense.

I think that all came out right....corrections???

edit: Don't worry about the ALUM's not performing up to par, they're supposed to be one of audiobahn's premium lines of drivers (notice the hideous flames are absent). And I'm sure you're not gonna be worried much about the sound quality, just wanna get something setup that bangs hard and sounds decent.

ko i think i understand now

i take it you have had a bad experience

lol yeah, and well almsot anything couold be better then a 6" 50 watt RF that my truck came with (im guessing its 50 all the speakers together are 350)

Nah no bad experiences, its just the fact that two sets of dual 6 ohm voice coils will come out to a weird final ohm load for your amp. Now throw a third one in the mix and you could bring it down to a 1 ohm load, but thats all i know.

hold up let me do the math. 1.5 ohms would be the final impedance if you wired them in parallel/parallel. get an amp that puts out around 2k watts @ 2 ohm. i dont know how much you are wanting to spend but amps like that are kind of expensive. but give these people a price range and be like i need an amp that does 2k watts @ 2 Ohm. that is just what i'd do.

well anyone got any ideas of what i could get for around 600-700 bucks (jsut amp and 2 subs) and id kinda like to etleast get 2000 watts and audiobaun seams to be the cheapest even though it supposedly doesnt sound as good so i think i shoudl stick with them
