I'm getting 9mpg

My truck gets around 21mpg, but the $160 fill ups still hurt.
One of the few reasons I am envious of you cummins boys lol. I still take my Ford first though but my 6.0 will only get about 18 or so on the highway and I average about 17 overall and then hooked up to a load it dwindles pretty quickly unlike your straight six. And I totally understand on the fillups //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif 36 gallons at $4.79 hurts.

Could be worse, you could have a 4.6 F150 that has no power and worse mileage //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Yeah, your rattley old ford has it's place I guess. But I wouldn't trade you. LOL.

I haven't pulled much of a load with the new rig yet, but I know you can pull a pretty good load without losing much milage. But when you get over that certain weight it drops right off.

Beats the hell out of my 4.7L. With the 35's I'd get around 15, with a lot of shifting on the highway.

Thats kinda what I keep telling myself lol. You got yourself a pretty nice truck though, specially with that lift. Getting 18mpg in an unloaded 8,000lb pickup certainly isn't all that bad though, and I certainly enjoy the ride.

Everything I have seen the cummins guys can haul 15k and still get around 17 or so, where I will be getting around 10. Sounds like you made a good trade up going from the 4.7, do you have a brand new 6.7L or the tried and true CR 5.9?

haha

i remember my mother back in the late mid/late 90's when gas was like $.85c/gallon she would put $2 in and I would LOL @ her, I wonder what our kids are going to think when we "only" put $10 in

I have the tried and true 5.9. I have driven the 6.7's and I love them. They don't quite get the milage I get, but the power is amazing.

Your Ford will ride a lot better than my tank though. Mine still rides like a truck for sure.

8 =\ 454 Board 60 over lol....yeah it sucks...
Cost of fuel for it must **** but I bet its one helluva ride when you get to enjoy it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I rememeber those days, back when you could actually get gallon or two from the loose change in your car, now you need to rob a bank just to get half a tank.

Nice, yea all the new emissions stuff is really choking the new diesels big time and killing their economy. I have heard really good things about all of the big three's diesels when they get uncorked but least up here that would be a big no no with emissions regs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif My Ford certainly rides better than the older models with the new front end and the long wheelbase helps a lot too, but the back end is still pretty bouncy without any weight. Then again I have always enjoyed the rough ride though, nothing beats the feeling of an empty dump truck going down the road lol.
