I'm confused

I am looking to get a 10 capable of handling 800rms and dual 4 or 1 ohm for a 1.5 cu.ft box tuned to 30 hz. My two choices right now are Audiobahn AW1006T and SPL SPLW10. But I keep reading about the the Type R's. The specs say they can only handle 500 rms, but yet people are saying they put way more to them. Whats the deal? Will a 10in Type R handle 800rms? Thanks

Type R's been known to handle more than stated RMS. Check out RE SX or XXX they can handle 1000rms or above or even the RE SE it can handle 600 rms but it'll probably take more. http://www.reaudio.com I'd recommend staying away from Audiobahn and I haven't heard anything from SPL the company. Get the type R even if you only give it 500 rms it'll kill the a-bahns if you put it in the right box.

If you want a 10" that will take 800 rms daily, you can also look into the Premier TS-W2504SPL. It will hit but takes a good tuner and setup to be a good SQ sub as well as loud. It will easily beat the @#$% out of the bahns. Don't have any idea on the SPL sub brand.
