1) make sure you are plugged into the correct RCA output on the back of the headunit.

2)make sure the RCA's are plugged into the INPUT on the amplifier

3)make sure the SW output is turned on (menu, settings, AV setting, subwoofer, sub on)

4)make sure your sub is wired correctly.

if all else fails, whip out the DMM and start testing voltages. AT the RCA's, at the amp power/ground, at the speaker terminals on the amp, etc etc.

x2. do this now and you will have a better idea of whats going on. Also again,, have you properly set your gains and levels?
Im going to try this right after I make this post.

Please dont mistake this for me being a jerk, but you all need to understand that the gains and levels do nothing.I can turn up the HU to a moderate level,go to the amp and turn the gain or bass boost and it doesnt change the output in any way.

I had this same amp hooked up with a different sub using a hi/lo convertor and it worked very well.

OK first off I want to say thanks you guys are pretty awesome!!

Heres what I figured out.I did have one RCA in the wrong spot on the amp.The directions with the amp are a little unclear. That helped but tell me if this is normal.I have to crank up the gain and bass boost to really get any decent volume from the sub. When I do this it hits pretty hard. Will turning up the controls hurt the amp at all?

MAYBE!!! Now.. SET YOUR LEVELS PROPERLY using a DMM or by ear if you think you are experienced enough to hear the distortion and clipping.

yea right, that head unit is barely kicking out 0.4acv i bet.. You really need to set the gains with a Digital Multimeter and a 50hz -3db sin wave mp3..

Otherwise you have a very good chance of not hearing good sound and being disappointed or blowing your sub.

A thread search will yield a very nice tutorial on how to set gains with a DMM.
