Look at all the posts I've accumulated in the 3 1/2 years I've been here. Anyways to turn this into a decent thread, I had my unemployment appeals hearing today. The company had two witness's, and I had my witness, and the company got caught in a lie. So it looks like I will be compensated for the time I was out of work, at least I hope so. They still haven't made a judgement, but I think things went in my favor.

Short story, this business is owned by family. My brother was working 3rd shift and his supervisor was picking on him, he told the supervisor that I told him to tell the supervisor to kiss his ***. Supervisor gets mad, brings gun to work next day and threatens me. I notify company, they do nothing, then I get the police involved and the supervisor turns around and says my brother and I threatened him. The company fires me and my brother. The company didn't even use the supervisor as a witness during the telephone conference with the unemployment office, that alone should help my case quite a bit.

Thanks, I was thinking of donating it to the red cross, but I don't get paid as good as I used to, so I am just going to use it to pay off my credit card. Not exactly sure how much I would get, but I only need $800 to pay off my CC.

Because he lied about it, and the company is a family owned business, and they chose not to question or believe the two people that saw the gun.

Good News: I got the determination in the mail today. They ruled in my favor because the company could not proove that I threatened the supervisor, and on the basis that there were inconsistencies within the companies testimony. Another words, they were caught in a lie, plus the supervisor was never used as a witness. That definitely makes me feel better, it really wasn't even much about the money anymore, it was more about getting justice, although the money isn't a bad reward.
