Hey all!

I recently got my windows tinted. I live in MN, and needless to say, they look darker then I thought and I am sure I will be pulled over eventually, and many times.

Rather then remove the tint- I am looking for help.

Is anyone, or does anyone know a doctor or someone who can write me a prescription for darker tint?

I need to get through this clause in my state's laws:

"are required to satisfy prescription or medical needs

of the driver of the vehicle or a passenger if the driver or

passenger is in possession of the prescription or a physician's

statement of medical need"

Can anyone help me out? I got some (not alot- like 50$) of cash to grease a wheel if necessary...

How hardcore is Minnesota about enforcing their tint laws?

My windows are darker than legal here in Louisiana and to tell the truth I have been stopped for it three times now since having them done (this has been about 3 years now the film has been on the car) and since that was the only infraction they could really find as I keep everything else up to date (insurance, registration, legit driver's license and all that jazz) they let me go each time.

if i were you, i would just keep a pair of sunglasses in your car, and if you get pulled over, throw them on, and try and bullshlt your way through it about how you have eye problems and something with the sunlight makes you unable to drive and thats why everything is like that, and if he asks if you have a presciption then say something like its at home or what not. should work jsut fine

as of january of 07 illinois wont accept them anymore. Only the eyedoctor will give you those and in some states your limited to like 2% tint.
2% tint is pretty freggin' dark //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

The percentages on tint are like wire gauges....the smaller the number the bigger the wire?

Well for tint the smaller the number the darker the film.

On the back doors and rear window is 5% film. 2% would be darker than that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

I hold no illusions 50 is enough to bribe an optomologist, but I thought maybe someone on here had a parent or close friend who was a doctor.

Also- in MN, any light sensitivty condition can be used. That means almost any doctor could write me a letter of medical need, citing sensitivity to the sun and requiring I avoid overexposure to sunlight, wear sunscreen, tint windows on car, and wear sunglasses whenever sun is out.

Just lookin for anything I can show a cop if I get pulled over. Its not like I am going to be using thisto harm anyone or commit a crime. Just so I can keep my expensive *** window tint.

I have 23% on. I thought it looked barely darker then my states legal limit 50%. on my black car though- it is extremely noticeable and I am afraid I am going to get analy ***** by cops.

what percent is the tint? i know the medical notes only let you get away to a certain percent...i was gonna do that with mine, but i have double 5 and 5 on the whole windshield, and i doubt nothing can let you get away with that...ive never been stopped yet though...lol

my truck has like .0025% tint all around, on the back is darker....(double layers of tint) lol

just always keep you windows rolled down
If the back windows do not roll all the way down it will still be pretty obvious that the tint is darker than it ought to be if a cop wants to be a wanker about it....

So you're the WonderBrain who is trying to make it almost impossible to see out of the car much less in it.

Listen retard. just obey the law and put a legal tint on. Side skirting laws with fraud hurts everyone.
