That article is horribly biased...
Not supporting the cops or the import guys...but who the hell organizes a meet at 11PM in a PUBLIC venue? ****ing idiots deserve it...

the local 350z guys here organize events that start at dinner and go late in the evenings :shrug:

we havent ever had an issue...

It's pretty ****in bullshit they completely destroyed someone's car. At the very most, they should have stripped the car down to OEM and given it back to them that way, along with fines out the ***.

And I mean completely oem, if the car had rims, it should be given back to them on cinder blocks.

Honda smashin? Yep. They got caught breakin the laws, endangering innocents. If some dumbazz wrecked me and my family while ricing and I live through it, they will be beaten. Period. If people ain't breakin laws, they shouldn't have anything to worry about... People meeting at midnight, are suspicious, I think....

except bullets are much less expensive than car parts... and a i guaruntee most of these guys worked pretty hard for their cars...

I am sure most did. But they should not be surprised if they get it taken away. If the are responsable enough to work for what they have, they should use it correctly!

If they have any type of investment in their car though, they would be losing thousands of dollars though. I know I would think twice before throwing a couple thousand dollars into the trash.

I'm all for discouraging ricers and I agree about the 11:00pm thing, but it was completely wrong for the PD to do that and make asinine statements as well.

Yeah, that's a bad idea. I thought it said 11am at first and I was like "WTF, why are cops busting people in broad daylight".

The way I see it, it seemed to be a preventative measure for street racing...
But the fact is we will never know what the intentions of the cops or the import guys were...you can't make assumptions like "those ignorant cops". More than likely they were there just to get paid and go home...

I have no problem with late night meets, but don't expect it to be a walk in a part if its not done properly, you know?

Meeting at a known street racing venue after dark, that is sketch.

Cops busting people who's cars were parked with no evidence of street racing, that is also sketch...and a violation of innocent until proven guilty.

nope. its not a huge meet though...

at an average meet we might have 6 cars, at a good meet we might have 10-15 cars.

we usually meet at a mall parking lot and then convoy to dinner or somewhere for a quick photoshoot if we have time. then convoy to bowling or somewhere to hang out. we spend alot of daylight time hanging out by the cars.

but on yer other post below that other one, they admit they will do it agian w/ another car.. i assume they will run out of cash one day because the cops will just keep smashing the cars, lol
