If you only had $700.00 to spend.....

nvx is not a good brand.i would take the jbl or rockville over the nvx anyday.
And what do you base this on? Do you have any direct experience with nvx products or is this another forum programmed response? Ask Roland about nvx amps and the x series component speakers. I've owned and used the nvx 5 channel since 2012. It is a very flexible and good sounding amp.

What does good sound like?

How about this unit Q4-90. I have never heard of this brand but many of you seem to like them. With this unit I would want to bridge 3/4 channel for sub. I could not see if that could be done or what the rating is bridged? I think one of you may have already recommended this amp? Thanks!

no. it will bridge to 2ch for speakers.

stick to mono for a sub.

or a 3ch if your going to use 3 speakers ( 1 sub/ 2 speakers )

the sq 1200 is a nice amp.

if you wanted to have 2 amps, you could do 1- 4ch sq and there 1200 mono.

sq is a good brand. i run there older 2ch amp.

My personal amp is a Soundstream Ref 760.4. I have been running it with 3/4 bridged for almost 4 years, no trouble at all.

I don't know about the amps, but NVX brands some really decent components. The X series is made by SEAS if I recall correctly. I also have read good things about the PPI phantom lineup of amps, but I havent played with any myself.

OP if I had you're budget and stuck on buying new I would probably focus my efforts on Harman-Kardon products for amps and cheaper components ie Infinity JBL etc. Personally I've always preferred seperate mids/highs and a monoblock so a 2 channel and mono would be ideal in your case IMHO.

Budget subwoofer I personally like Alpine maybe a type s or r if budget allows it.

Wire: Whatever true AWG OFC you find that's the cheapest.

Deadener: Knukonceptz or Sound Deadener Showdown (Expensive, but I've had decent result with minimal coverage.)

Box: Build it yourself if able.

I got to say, the whole car stereo sales thing is so sketchy. It is so hard to believe anything that anyone says. I can see that some of you are salesman, some of you are wanting to dump some used equipment and some of you are just spreading the word with no proof. Even back in the 90's it was like this. Of coarse you are going to recommend the product you are trying to sell. Back in 2012 I was told by several people either here or on the diyaudio to stay away from the Soundstream, it was junk. Well, it is still going strong and it is the best amp I have ever owned, I have owned ADS, Linear Power, PPI and RF.

I have been burned twice by JBL (Home Speakers) and to many times to count by Sony. I will not buy anything JBL, RF or Sony, I will not buy anything used and I will pretty much only deal with Sonic Electronix, Woofersetc or Crutchfield.

As you all know, a Toyota Prius C is a very small car. I need a small class D amp. That is why I have put the NVX on top of the list. Keep in mind, this is a 19 year old girls car. She will want to blast it every now and again but she does not want to compete. Really, the only other choices I have are the other NVX clone amps, Nak, Soundstream, Polk, Hertz(to high $), PPI(to ugly), etc. What I dislike about NVX is that it is a product of Sonic Electronix so it kind of falls in line with my ***** at the beginning of this post. So, I would do Polk. All I have to go by is personal reviews. And, you are all right, those reviews may be by people who have no idea and those people may have arterial motives too?

Regarless, I appreciate the help, even if there was arterial motives. I am still open to any amp that has power, under $300 and has a small footprint. I am also still open to any suggestions on components and sub. The reason I chose JL is because that is what I have had the last 4 years and I am very happy with it.
