As much as I enjoy car audio and can understand your argument here I would have to fight this sort of a bill. Now in hindsight I see how it could be a foot in the door to passing such bills. As annoying as those things can be to some people its sort of the same deal with stereo's. Yea a straight piped harley can be heard from farther away and a pair of 15's but the rider could also use it in moderation as a car audio guy. If they are gonna star ticketing vehicles for being too loud due to engine noise/exhaust noise than that will be just one more step for me to moving to canada or mexico.
Then again I am a person whose ears perk up the second I hear a slightly altered exhaust note (of anything other than a 4-banger, unless its a bike) and I have grown up around diesels all my life and they may be loud but how do you think your milk and lettuce get too the store, more restictions on trucks and diesels (read locomotives and nearly ANYTHING but a personal passenger car, construction equipment, and busses) means simply that everyone will pay more for common goods. Price of fuel goes up, or trucks get lower milage due to restrictions only passes on the bill to the consumer.
