If the law was passed uniformly for all sound violations, I would support it. However, diesel engines from semi trucks, loud exhausts, motorcycles, ice cream trucks and a variety of other noise making vehicles won't get the same treatment as a young African American in a 80s cutlass with 20 inch rims.

Hell yea, the problem is these kids with their sony xplod's clipping the crap out of them at neighborhood stop signs. Theyre ruining it for competitors and enthusiast. I also agree with flipx because if we can't have "boom boxes" then why are bikers allowed to have their loud pipes, and ricers w/ their 19" cans?

FL is serious about moving violations that is for sure, I saw a nice sting outside of the Tampa airport one time, Had 3 guys up in a Scissor lift, one with a radar gun, another with a clipboard and a walkie talkie, and the third with binoculars. Then about 2 minutes up the road there was at least 6 cars pulled over, and another 3 cruisers waiting for their orders.

However on the same vacation my friend an I easily passed 140 and up to 150 on several occasions, the roads are SOOOOO much better down there than they are up here. I don't think that would be ticket territory more like cuffs and a ramp truck territory.

I hate seeing the government making more and more laws all the time to fix things but I don't think I would feel too badly if this one passed, I would have nothing to worry about, it only gets cranked up when I am moving along and turned down at stop lights and when stuck in traffic.

I agree, but those other sources are easier to take care of. I don't think someone with a beat-up Kenworth is intentionally trying to make a racket, it just happens.
