They dont believe in mid-bass...because apparently with a strong substage mid bass isnt required //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
wow...just substage, and 50 tweets screaming in your ears from all angles........

count me in:crying:

I would really like a comment from either of you two guys on this. Is your system loud at a single frequency or across its entire spectrum? How is your midbass? You specifically stated that your 8" Eminence was the loudest driver of its size (power/enclosure aside) what frequency was it at? SPL is specifically determined by displacement and in that department your puny xmax pro sound drivers will fall on their face:uhoh:
To be honest with you, Midbass is almost none existant. They are not midbass drivers. If I wanted to add some midbass, I would throw some midbass drivers in my doors, which I might actually do soon. They are loud to the ear across the whole spectrum. Some songs play louder than others, but I beilive that is in the recording.

But see...you can hear a difference by using higher quality recordings if you better engineer your sound stage and use higher quality drivers/components/crossovers. Assuming there is no difference is just ignorance.
I don't use high quality records. I use whatever I get from the net. I don't liston to jazz or any instrumental stuff either. And to me, I can't tell a lot of difference between my setup and the next guy's high end component setup with the same songs playing. Except mine is a whole lot louder.

Why dont you measure your system on an RTA and figure out where your troughs are so you can do your best to equalize them out, albeit it will be incredibly difficult with all those micro nodes scattered about. Midbass is beyond essential, I cannot emphasize that more.

Like I said, it sounds cripst and clear to me right now. I'm using my Crossover in my HU for now. And not having a ton of midbass in Southern Rap isen't going to kill me.

This is because you are using highly compressed poor recordings...your loud is wimpy loud if there are no dynamics. The only way loud can exist is if there is quiet to compliment it...otherwise the attack and benefit of the loudness is gone.

This link illustrates it perfectly, it is brief and is spoken in laymans terms

This is most easily explained by attending a rock concert (tool and nine inch nails are incredible examples of this). They provide intense dynamics that captivate and bring you in, brief moments of quiet that explode and/or manifest into something insane. This is only achievable with a system with a high dynamic range, and is only observable with dynamically recorded material.

Since I got my Germaniums I have noticed ALOT more midbass that I have never noticed before in songs I listen to all the time.

Your system may be loud...but with pro sound 8s crossing to bullet tweeters you are going to be missing out of a hell of a lot of the spectrum (that is the top octave, a significant portion of the midrange, and almost all of the midbass). Go out and listen to some high end equipment, even if it is thousands of dollars worth of home audio and you will understand what is achievable.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Im content you would be dissuaded from your current practice after being exposed to something on that magnitude.

Welp, I'm going to the gym now. Thanks thadman for taking your time and explaining things, rather than just sayin they sound like crap. Even though a lot of what you typed is far beyond my car audio goals. I'm out for now ----->

TO: whoever banned VJ(pimpedout97x)...

Do our hands a favor, and save them from carpel-tunnel and please ban platestacker? You cant help someone, or educate them for that matter, that doesnt want to be taught, doesnt want to listen, and flat-out doesnt want the help.Just a thought....
