See thats the thing. I can not tell the difference between the two. I can not hear half the shit you talk about. So if I can't hear it or tell the difference, it doesen't matter to me. Makes sense huh?

The reason you cant hear the difference (albeit I highly doubt you have installed a DVD-A/SACD player in your vehicle and attempted to hear the difference) is because you make your system the weakpoint instead of the recording. It becomes much easier to discern nuances in music if you have much higher dynamics, quicker transients, flatter frequency response, and low distortion.

I understand what you are getting at. But I also believe this is something that maybe a SQ competitor or sound engineer needs to deal with. Not me.

You stated that you couldnt tell a difference, and came to the conclusion that this material is negligible and not worth your time. I merely disagreed with you and tried to explain to you WHY you didn't hear a difference. You wont hear a difference because of your horrible sound stage! You are just being ignorant.

I hope this post wasn't directed towards me. I have seen and heard and UNINSTALLED more eminence than most of you guys have seen or heard. I do have experience with them. I DO work for a shop in LOUISIANA, another southern state where eminence runs rampant.

That is fine to me. I honestly can't say I hear all the things you talk about when I listen to high end equipement either. So if both setups sound similar, SQ wise and one is waaaay louder. actually heard it, just normally setup w/ front and rears.....never 100 speakers or so......to me sounded ok......just cant see how multiplying speakers sounds good is all.........and just wanted to put that in the sig for the moment

???You have been arguing about your "surround sound" for 2 pages now. Placing speaker behind you, unless you are doing an in car theater, or you carry passengers frequently and you would enjoy them to have music. There is no reason for speakers behind you or beside you.

Also, you say your system is loud...but is it loud at a single frequency or across its entire spectrum? Pro-sound drivers cripple their speakers by producing low-xmax/low weight cones (drives up Fs) that have very little displacement but provide high efficiency at higher frequencies. The result of this is crap midbass and a very beamy and bright midrange and treble.
Go measure your system with an RTA...you could probably take a bath in those troughs in your frequency response. LOL

I would really like a comment from either of you two guys on this. Is your system loud at a single frequency or across its entire spectrum? How is your midbass? You specifically stated that your 8" Eminence was the loudest driver of its size (power/enclosure aside) what frequency was it at? SPL is specifically determined by displacement and in that department your puny xmax pro sound drivers will fall on their face:uhoh:

But see...you can hear a difference by using higher quality recordings if you better engineer your sound stage and use higher quality drivers/components/crossovers. Assuming there is no difference is just ignorance.
