If you had $100k to spend on a mondern car....

for stock sure.. but you buy a 50k vette and spend the difference on upgrades dueces gtr.. besides the more I see em the more I dislike gtrs..
I think we are thinking of two different cars here.

I'm pretty sure you're thinking of this:

I'm talking about this:

I would get an excursion, do a 5.9 or 6.7 cummins swap. Do engine mods, get 500-600 hp and 1000+ torque, put a beastly automatic ****** in, lift it, replace axles and beef up every component. And then do a crazy audio system in it.

50k-Shelby GT50075k-Aston Martin V8 Vantage

100k-Nissan GTR

The GTR is hands-down the best bang for the buck super car in this generation.

Maybe thats your opinion.. The ZR1 spanked the GTR in every road test out there... Google and youtube it..

Maybe the ZR1 can run circles around the GTR all day, but the point still stands.

MSRP ZR1 (Quoted straight from chevy's website)-$110,300

MSRP GTR (Quoted straight from nissan's website)-$89,950

(BRAND NEW 2012 Version)

The ZR1 is a whopping $20,000 more expensive and about ten grand over the limit for this discussion.

Not saying the GTR is end all, but for under 100k best bang for your buck.

Did my research, here's yours:1000HP GTR

An extra 20k goes a long way...
And I can say that a Z06 will spank the gt-r with mods too. Or that a Supra with X amount of upgrades can do this or that..it's all a pointless conversation. Stock vs stock, the ZR-1 is better. And it costs 20k more, not 30k. When you're looking at a 90k car, 110k isn't a stretch, so they are catering to the same income bracket. It'd be like me looking for a car and staying in the 20-25k range.

Always been a fan of the CT-V until my friend worked on one. He did a brake job and it took him two days. He told me all about it and said it was pathetic and he would never work on another CT-V again. Told his sister to go take it to a GM shop and never to him again, and he is extremely handy too. He has done a couple things to it int he past.

So although as much as I want one, that helped me think twice about it. I have heard the same thing from other people first hand. Pricey for parts too

But of course, that part of ownership is not up for debate in the conversation, just thought I'd inform ya

Stock vs Stock, the GTR beats the Z06 in the quarter and off the line. ZR1 beats the GTR. Here's the thing though. The Z06 can fall under or right at the same price as the GTR, depending on your overpriced packages for the Z06. They start out at what? Like the $70k mark and you and on 3LZ Package, Ultimate Performance Package, $2k Navigation Package and you are at $95k, which is more than the GTR and you still get smoked by the GTR. My point being, the GTR comes with all of the goodies that you dont have to pay for like the Z06, which already has a shotty interior. The ZR1 is $20k more. That is out of the price range and sorry to say, $20k can be quite a bit. $400 extra a month is a 1/3rd of the price of your car payment alone already.

ZR1 vs GTR. If you want to make this fair, take the ZR1 vs. the Hennessy GTR 550 for $25k. It's only fair.

I still pick the GTR just for the simple fact of what you get interior, options you dont have to pay for, handling, etc... ZR1 is still one of my favorite cars though, no doubt. Just all around, GTR is my car

100k - GT-R, for sure (vette huggers can fuck off)

75k - Lexus IS-F (Nice daily car, with plenty of engine to spare)

50k - 4Runner (Once I get rims, lifted slightly, some engine work, and a killer system, it'll be 50k)

on the whole vetter/gtr thing i think it's really all personal preference, if you're a redneck who likes clinging to the concept of American superiority, the vette is the car for you. In all honesty, if the ZR1 could do what it does, at 90k instead of 110k, I would take it over the GTR, but it simply doesn't.

and the similarly priced vettes to the GT-R get completely wasted on the track... sooooo....

Nice choice on the IS-F. I want that car badly. Those are one of the nicest looking Sedan's I have ever laid my hands upon. It looks similar to an IS350, but little do people know whats under the hood and suspension. It's a car I plan on trying to get. One of my stepping stones to the GTR. We all gotta have goals/dreams in life

Plus that Ultrasonic Blue Mica is just flat out gorgeous on the IS-F. That is by far one of my favorite colors and I'm a black kinda guy when it comes to car color
