I say run twins above the hood like a team of Aussies did for Hot Rod Drag Week a few years ago.
It would probably be easier too because you're adapting a turbo to 1 bank of cylinders at a time rather than sourcing a y pipe for a single turbo on a v configuration.

I can fit a single without moving anything besides getting an electric fan.

idk why your f/e is that terrible with your accord. I average over 24 mpg with mostly city driving. I have had over 32mpg when doing all highway driving. I have a 03 accord v6 exl with 3 group 31's and

a mechman 240a alt.

Do twin turbos in the rear at the exhaust exits ..you can get some wicked power that way ....
