If I can afford it

How much is the turbo and are you going to have to pay someone else to do the work? The turbo and installation will most likely be more than the value of the truck.
i have racing friends. i have a buddy doing 2 cummins 60 mm turbos on a 1970 nova witha 4.8L ls in it

I want to keep the v6 because it's so ugly in a way. It's also a simple OHV, easy to work on. It'll do what I want

The 4.0 should be able to make good power if it can hold the boost and maintain a good afr. I'm willing to bet the fuel delivery system and tuning will be your first speedbump/weakpoint, followed by the gaskets and bearings then the structural durability of crank and rods.

There's a story behind it all. It's more than just a truck
oh was this your dad's truck i remember a thread about that.. if u gonna fix/keep it for more than 5 yrs yeah do it up.. my gp almost at 99k and i'll keep it till i die unless it has some$3k electrical problem.. i know peeps that have gp's with 300k on them..

Those are common enough that any repair has been documented already. No need to worry about a $3k electrical repair, worry more about a transmission rebuild.

If owners of a car as uncommon as a Mark viii with more modules ect can easily diagnose problems within the community you shouldn't have any issues with a gp.
