IE Problem

Ok, a weird problem has devolped with my internet explorer. Every time i click on a link and it opens in a new window, it doesnt load, there is no address in the bar, and no title in the new window. It just sits there, and the new window is transparent (Like i can see the old window under it, even though im clicked onto the new window). Any ides on how to fix this, or anybody else have this weird problem?

It is not a virus, i updated my definitions and scanned and it came up with nothing.

Tim, when did this problem started? What OS are you using right now? You can always use the system restore under your system tools.

I had the exact same problem yesterday.......just completely un-install IE and re-download it...

I'm running XP home right now. I cant reinstall IE either. i downloaded it and whenever i try to reinstall it, it asks for a windows file that doesnt exist. I'm going to try and dig up my windows xp cd and just reinstall xp.

Before you do that, go to Start > Run > and type in "sfc /scannow" (without the quotes) and then try reinstalling it.

Ok, I did that and the program runs for about a second then closes. No screen is brought up, and no results are shown.

did u check if you have the msblast virus.....check your windows task manager then go to processes and check if msblast.exe is present then end the process. If you have it download the patch from microsoft.

Have you run ad aware on the machine?

I have had this problem and so has a friend of mine. Try finding a winsock fix for your computer. My buddy got it from his cousin on a floppy disk. I guess it goes in a fixes bad areas with your connection. Good luck.
