idea on how much deadener to deaden a crown vic/ gran marquis

title says it all, just bought an 01 crown vic and im curious what it will take to completely deaden the trunk and the front doors at the very least, and at the most the floor the ceiling all 4 doors and trunk (the whole **** car)

way to get your post count up buddy, seeing how the vehicle has a decent amount of contours (those are the curves, encase you can't keep up) which make it difficult to simply measure with a tape measure, i thought maybe, just maybe, someone on here would happen to own one of these vehicles (since i've seen a ton of them on here) and would have also happened to have used a sound deadening product in their vehicle, and if that person existed i was hoping that they (not you) would have responded with a decent estimate as to the amount of sound deadening they used as a total or in select portions of this particular vehicle.

Totally depends on which company you go with. Expect to spend $2-300 for the quality stuff. I bought 2 rolls of raamat to go in my grand marquis. I also had some SS damp pro that I put on the trunk lid. I haven't used it all, because I haven't had time do it yet.

If I had to guess on how much I'm going to use on my doors I would say 25 sq ft EACH. Trunk/rear deck probably another 70+ sq ft. I might get some more for the roof/sides too. They seem to be rattling a lot now.

it figured it would be quite a bit, i suddenly miss my standard cab truck so much more...

do you think i could get by with say 60ft^2 at first if just doing the front doors and trunk area, or am i still going to be short

well that is one of the reason i'm looking at quantity, to find out what i'm lookin at as far as money. I was planning on going with raammat because it has pretty good reviews and its only 120$ for 62 ft^2 of the stuff, fatmat would be nice but i know thats not going to work... but my biggest concerns were the doors and trunk as i heard those were the problem areas, but i would plan on doing the roof and floor eventually, the back doors won't get speakers so unless they become a rattling problem i don't see deadening them.

25 ft^2 per door tho? is that inner and outer skin in multiple layers?

This is the reason I bought raamat and that did the entire trunk in one layer with nothing left over. Im going to do my doors next as well and will probably just buy another roll of raamat.

well i was thinkin i would start off with one roll of raammat and do the doors and at least the trunk lid, and then as much of the rest of the trunk as i can possibly do, another thing i was considering when it comes time to do the floor of the car and trunk was a spray on, but i haven't done a fair comparison between spray on and traditional deadening.

I bought one roll of the b stock stuff that was only supposed to go on the floors, and one roll of the regular stuff. I think it ended up costing $200.

I figure I will do my trunk floor and trunk sides with the b stock, and the doors with the regular stuff.

I have an Omega 15" and an RD 3250.1 in my trunk. The thing that rattles the most for me is the bumper believe it or not. I think I would have to take it off, and spray it will sludge or whatever to get it to stop.
