Idea for my friend's baby

Ok, so I got my friend into car audio and since I am going to be the "uncle" who is big into it and always talk about it, it is kind of expected I am going to try and make the kid loud when he is little. So here is the idea:

For every year the baby gets older, buy him a speaker(s) that represent how old he is. So for his first birthday get him a tweeter. Now this would basically be an on going gag gift type thing, I would buy the usual gifts as well, but by the time the kid is 10 he will have a system already. And for those odd years where there isn't a speaker work with it, like 11, 7, etc... Buy an amp or installation stuff like wire. I plan on getting his kid into MECA kids and making my friend's baby loud, no ifs ands or buts.

Oh, and for the baby shower gift I am getting a shirt that says, "My daddy is louder than your daddy."

When he turns 18, get him a 10k amp.
nope, 18" sub. That is the plan, but I hope by the time he is 18 he will have a job and won't need it. But I think when his kid turns 18 since it will be a big birthday I will stop the gag there and get him a single 18 and the box and amp to go with it. Kind of a big ending to it.

Not something I would do. Would rather get him something that will be more productive.

I know how much money I have spent on this addicting hobby and by no means do I want to start them off early. I will let them do that on their own, lol!

Because that system he will have might last a year..........because he will not want very outdated stuff, just IMO.

sweet, I wish when I turned 16 or 18 i had a shit ton of random CA parts that got older and older and outdated as I looked through them.

I agree, this hobby is very expensive. There are a number of times I dumped hard earned money into buying something only to sell it for a loss later. Then money didn't become much of an issue, but I found my room filled with about 30 subs, 7 amps, it was just too much. Not needed really. Sold pretty much everything I had, rehab I guess you can say when I realized I didn't need it. I guess this is what a crack addicts go through.

I've spent so much money on amps and subs. I think I have over $1,000 worth of subs, sitting in my room doing nothing and over $2,000 in amps sitting in my room doing nothing. I've had more at one time but I sold them and made money on them. I'm not doing too bad with it other than collecting the US Amps and the Eclipse decks....
