I lost power Monday evening, supposedly it'll be 7-10 more days before we get power back again.

i spent all day in the dark and played board games by candle light

could you open your car door?

broke all the ice off and then the door handles wouldnt open the door. had the same problem last year with an ice storm and broke the drivers side door

only had our stove to keep our house warm. internet went out right after i posted this last night as well.

I am empathetic to your plight.
however, i would like to point out that a few years ago we had a fukked up ice storm here (several inches of ice immediately followed by a foot of snow and 40 mph winds with subzero temps) and it didn't make the national news. I was without power for 8 days. They had to go door-to-door asking people if they needed to go to shelters because it was so cold and there was no power for heat.

That would be because only 6 people live in South Dakota. Total.

Been cutting trees for 2 1/2 days and Im still not done.

I only lossed power for about 6 hrs at a time, but Ive had heat thanks to our gas stove in the basement.

None of my neighbors have had power though, my wife finally made me unplug our christmas tree, cause she felt bad.

Had to go get a family member who is on oxygen cause he hasnt had power for a while.

Sucks but Ive been lucky.
