The original thread with pictures, as linked above, is temporarily down if you try to access it. The SPL Bass X forum got hacked.

Here's the setup, a pair of Sundown Audio SAZ-1500d's strapped at 1 ohm.

In the box used in the test (a single Funkin Audio MF12, dual 2), rise went from 1 ohm to 2 ohms during play. Here are the results:

Notes:

* Highest power on 16.0v rest was 4663 watts on 14.3v

* Highest power on 16.5v rest was 5136 watts on 14.3v

* Highest power on 17.9v rest was 5677 watts on 15.5v

* 84% efficient on 15.0v and 180 amps of draw

There was a 10% increase in power starting 0.5v higher with an ending voltage being the same. There was another 10% increase when starting at 1.4v higher and ending 1.2v higher. This would tell me that a lowest voltage over 16.5v likely wouldn't be much of a gain from below that.

No matter how ya look at it, tapping the 5700 mark on 15v isn't too shabby from a pair of 1500 watt amps.

That should answer alot of questions about the SAZ-1500D on higher voltage electrical systems for competition!

When you coming out with bigger amps...Jacob?
SAZ-3000D prototypes are in the works. If all goes well they should be out in around 6 months or so. They will be coming out alongside the SAE-1000D, which has been discussed on here a little bit already //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You need to get your amps to caraudiomag to test out..... I would love to see what they say......curious.......

I love the amp...I'm glad I picked it up....very very powerful and compact in eyes.

They probably won't like it since I don't give them mad advertising dollars. Wasn't it caraudiomag that reviewed the SI Mag relatively poorly?

Can I call dibs on one of the protos you will most likely sell?
The SAZ3000d that is.
No SAZ-3000D protos will be available for sale. Unfortunatly everyone will have to wait until production models are ready in 6 - 8 months. As for the lead time... I like to be conservative so it could be less than that if everything falls into place exactly as planned, but we all know how life works //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i was watchin kenny's build up and im thinking these might compliment some Fi's . .
Many Sundown customers also use FI Subwoofers, it's a great combination. I would also recommend Stereo Integrity woofers as well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i want one of these so bad, just dont have the money //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif hopefully soon though..maybe ill just go with the 3000:)//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif:)

Just checked them out, nice looking stuff, but Id need 18's, 4 of them to be exact . . . //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

I think you be right......It does seem that way....reminds me of car magazine... I mean the CHEVY as truck of the year......I need to puke!

I think it would be very interesting to see how much the CA&E review on the SI MAG changed if Nick were to start forking over six figures for advertising with them per year. Not only that, but maybe then they would properly power the driver for that review.

I even sent the reviewer an email asking him why they vastly underpowered the MAG and he never even bothered to reply.

Jacob knows what's going on. Ask anyone who has used the Sundown amps and they will tell you they are great amps. That has much more clout in my book than a single biased magazine review.
