IA Flatlyne reviews?

I am actually pretty interested in the Flatlyne. Any chance the 12s come in dual 4 ohm?
Mine are dual 4 ohm

do you think 1 12 Flat Line will sound better than 2 12 idqv.3?
I thought so. I initially tested one Flatlyne 12 in place of the two IDQV3's. The flatlyne was more accurate, and had more detail. The bass was clean even at low volume. It just sounds more natural to me. So if one is good, two is even better. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Why dont he run the 12's?

I would love to run IB to save trunk space, but for some reason its in my head that IB cant get loud. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
Some people just like to be different. He would have to rebuild for 12's too, so he decided to wait and get the 15's.

IB in a car is not a "by the book" IB system. The trunk acts as a large enclosure. If you can make the trunk strong and stiff enough, and seal the trunk from the cabin well enough, it will be as loud as any normal enclosure.

Sounds like a great test.

I would love to know where you heard the Flatlyne 10's.
I ran IDQ12V3's last season in a SQ system. I changed the subs this season to the Flatlyne 12's. They are the most accurate, detailed sub I've ever heard. The ID's won me a world championship last season, and I didn't hesitate to replace them with the Flatlyne. That should tell you something. If you want extreme detail at the lowest frequencies, with rediculous output, the Flatlyne is the sub to have.
what makes someone go, "hmmm, I won world champ with IDQs, but I think i'll go with Flatlynes" ??

Testing. Plain as that. When the season was over, I went looking for a sub that played more accurately below 20hz. I won a world championship in MECA, but the weak point all season was sub bass scores. IASCA has a track on their CD that has real 18hz bass on it. It's hard to pick up even one point in these competitions, so I figured I would look in places some miss. The sub bass. I met and got to know Nick last season, so I figured we could ask him what he thought about it. After testing and some adjustments with the Flatlyne, I have accurate sub bass below 20hz with output that is borderline rediculous. It's a lot easier to turn levels down than it is to get levels up. The Flatlyne cured the sub bass issue, so now I can work on a few other areas. Have you ever heard a concert bass drum the way it's supposed to sound? I have! In my car. I was the biggest skeptic on the team with this sub. I figured IA was an SPL company and the sub would be really powerful at one note. After playing the Flatlyne for a couple of hours, I knew we had something special.
