I wouldn't buy from summit racing if I were you.

Here's a thread that embodies the problem I had... along with the letter I wrote to summit racing (on the second page)

http://www.dodgeintrepid.net/forums...ead.php?t=75050

You'll know that I asked summit for compensation for having to wait about 2 months for my rotors, which ultimately destroyed one of my rotors while I was waiting. I wrote them asking for compensation because I had to buy $19.99 pads and a $30 rotor just to be able to drive... (along w/other materials). They had previously given me a $25 gift cert, and I just asked for another $25 gift cert to help make up for the money that I had to spend for damage to my car because they kept pushing back the backorder date (originally it was july 12th, then 25th, then aug 16th, then aug 31st.. and now it keeps getting pushed back).

This is their response:

Dear Zach,

We do apologize for the extended delay on these backordered rotors but we can not agree to another $25.00 for the delay. We can check for alternate rotors that might be in stock for you to receive faster delivery. Please let us know if you wish to check for replacement otherwise we will ship just as soon as these receive. Thank you for your inquiry. Best regards, Amy

yeah i just don't see how summits to blame for this one

if they were letting you know that the order was being delayed in a timely manner it seems like you had plenty of opportinities to cancel and get your parts elsewhere for your repair before it did damage

Each time I talked to them they say "we could be getting it in any day, we just put the date out there to say when we will have it in by"

I just heard back from them, and they said they'd offer 10% off their rotors. As my total would be around $220, that'd be around $22, so it's close enough.

I'd still be very apprehensive about anything they have that is backordered, but as far as the company goes, it shows that they have good integrity.

They dont make the stuff they just sell it.........

Your problem is with who makes the stuff.

If they dont have go somewhere else.

Hell they gave you 25.00 go to jegs or go local........dam n thier brakes man you need brakes dumbass

Umm...Not a good enough reason to not buy from them IMO.

YOU chose to keep driving with bad breaks.

YOU knew that they were backordered. You should know that things dont always go to plan.

You already got $25 back from them...now you expect them to pay you $25 more...I'd cancel your order and smack you upside the head, just for good mesure.

They are in no way responcible for your actions of demolishing your breaks...you should have taken a cab.

I should have taken a cab for the month and a half of back order time they added on to the original ***** FOUR DAYS ******

That's probably the most retarded thing I've ever heard.

Taking a cab everywhere I go in a day would probably be $15-20 EASILY.. probably more. Let's just say $15 for the sake of argument. $15 * 30 + 14 days (1 and 1/2 months) = $660.

So you're saying it would make more sense for me to pay $660 than buying a $19.99 cheap pair of pads and $30 rotor until I get my new rotors in?

Again... most retarded comment I've ever heard.
