i might b getting a shepherd mix from the pound shortly. All three of my dogs at home are rescued muts. All three are really good dogs, but the youngest two are a bit stupid.

I had a golden retriever I paid good money for @ 19 years of age

single, lived alone, college student

I had plenty of time to devote to the dog and its training, my mother has instructed people in discipline training for large breed dogs, so Im somewhat familiar with basic training techniques

fastforward to me being 23

the dog is still dumb as shit, and terrified of everything that makes a sound, and mobs people

I worked with her for the entire time, trying to improve her manners if nothing else, to no avail

now, I had a lab/rotty mix that was the best dog Id ever owned

for mainstream breeds, Id avoid the pure blood, too much inbreeding by puppy farms, mutts are the way to go for me

luckily I know a retired lady looking for a dog to sit on the couch with and eat chocolate with, the retarded golden was perfect for her
