Last night around 11PM my Grand Cherokee decided to strand me at the gas station right down the road from home (turns out the battery was gone). I was only 1/4 mile from home, & it was freezing, so I decided just to walk home & mess with it in the morning. This particular gas station is part of a grocery store, so I walked in & notified the manager on duty I had to leave my Jeep at the pump until the AM. He said no problem & he'd leave the 3rd shift stock crew a note.
So I get home, work on homework, & surf the web until 2:30AM or so..... after that I was out. Around 3:56AM I am startled & wake up. I share a townhouse with 3 friends, all 3 were upstairs asleep, I have the downstairs room. Without turning on any lights, I walk upstairs, everything seems fine & they're all out. Walk back downstairs, get in the bed, & no sooner than I get comfortable I hear someone walking around outside my window. I roll over & there's a flashlight shining in my window. I reached under the mattress, grabbed my Glock 27 .40, then stuck my S&W BodyGuard .380 in my waistband & walked upstairs. I heard someone walking on the back porch & saw another flashlight at the front door. I went over to the corner of the living room so that I could see out the window to the driveway & the front porch. What do I see? No vehicles in the driveway, yard, or along the road. However, I do see a man wearing a black toboggan & dark colored sweater standing on my front porch with a flashlight. Next thing I know he starts knocking on the door. I opened the solid oak door just enough to show this dude my shiny Glock 27. Next thing I know he's screaming deputy something & pulls his gun yelling police. At this point I'm relieved I'm not getting robbed, but I'm still shaking because I have two cops with pistols drawn standing on my porch. The other guy that came around had on a uniform, so I put my gun down on the floor so they'd calm down. They then inquired as to why I had two pistols on me & a 10G shotgun in the hallway. I simply replied, "Because that bullshit ya'll just pulled scared the fuck out of me."

Turns out 3rd shift never got the note about my Jeep & called the police about my vehicle being parked their. The cops were just coming by to make sure everything was okay...turns out they have 3 homicides this month with no leads...2 of the victims vehicles were found abandoned in parking lots.

Anyway, just a note to the sheriff's office..... Don't park your police vehicles 3 houses down, have on black clothing, & walk around someones house @ 4AM with flashlights peeking in doors/windows. Scared the shit out of me & liked to have got me shot. IMO they should have parked in the driveway with the blue lights on or waited until the morning. I think I'm going to have a talk with the sheriff's office about their tactics...

Seeing a dude dressed in black shine a flashlight in your windows at 4AM isn't cool. And I'm not gonna lie, it scared the living shit out of me.
