And now prepare for the type-r bandwagon...

I don't know why anyone would want 150db for daily listening, especially when that is only bass. Especially when it involves building a wall... in a 97 cavalier...

I'm basicaly gonna do it for something to do....All the equpiment will go into a blazer after the car..just gonna see how loud i can get a cavalier first...two xxx 18s in a wall in a cavalier.....thats gonna hurt

If your going to get 150 in out of the trunk then it will be a one note wonder. You could get the r's like I have and put them in a nice ported box and fold down your seat and power the cap out your subs and burp it and I am sure you could do 150. Will sound like shi t but if all you care about is being loud then do this.

If you want to be over 150 and still be a daily driver then 2 things you could do. Build a wall. Throw in 2 sweet *** uberwoofers and power them well and your on your way to sounding good and getting loud. 2 build custom port in the rear deck and build the box in your trunk. All your sound will go in the car and you should be close to 150 and musical. Here is how I did 2 of my systems back in the day that both did over 150. One is a wall and other is in the trunk so you can get an idea.

Are you serious? I hit a 151 on a 180 AC mic with three old school 12"w6's in the trunk. Powered by one PPI A1200.2 150 on a TL mic is going to be HARD, but not impossible. Its going to be more expensive than impossible.

Precisely Diplexors!

Its amazing the amount of advice stemming from those who havent even seen a TL meter...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Origional poster - you most certainly can attain a 150 on the TL legal from the trunk. A buddy of mine has a hyundai that does legal 153s on the TL from his trunk. Forget about porting through the rear deck...instead wall off the partition btwn the trunk and the cab. Fire both subs foward and play with your box. You will also need to buy 3 more mtx 1501ds - strap them and you now have about 4800 w rms. Go get 2 MT12s or 2 DD9912z's. You will need, at bare minimum 4 runs of 1/0 to the front with 16 being preferrable.... (4 per amp, 2 for each terminal.) You will need to get a very good battery like an oddessey 2150 or a kinetic 3200 or some such 300+ dollar battery //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif You will need a laptop and a termlab meter. Ideally you will also need a table saw/circular saw and a screw gun....And a LOT LOT of work.

That's everything I can think of off the top of my head...

Im running 2 9915s and 8.8kW rms and am scratching into the 152s at present....

8.8 and u just getting into 150's...low 150's at that..........something is wrong with your setup.....

my friend has 2 mojo 15's and 2 mojo amps and he's doing 150's easy

my other friend has 2 mojo 12's and 2 orion 2500d's and he burped a 154

those to boxes where in a bandpass with the port going thru the armrest...and there daily drivers..

what kind of sub was it my sub was not broke in yet either
it was an TYPE R. i bump my TYPE E daily on 2500d and still no avatar like yours. juss gotta build a efficient box for the sub 2 handle that kinda power.

and it doesnt have 2 be a 1 note wonder for the sub 2 break a 150. it'll take work, but it doesnt have 2 b2 a one note wonder. there is no funn in 150daily 1 note wonders. more impressive is ya daily car goin into the lanes breakin a 150 and pullin off bumpin some LNT:crazy: it can be done and like yota said, get some more power and fire subs forward and seal it off from the trunk. upgrade electrical system also, that will help u reach your goal.

blah blah...the old xxxs were capable oh spl levels of around 140s while sounding allright...
If you think you can run your subs @ 140dB and have any semblance of SQ, //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/hilarious.gif.02a037aad04aa96f19982b298a3d70a8.gif

Like Kurt (Warbleed) once said, 140dB of subbass and 120dB of midrange/highs is not SQ - it's noise.

I guess it doesnt have to be 150db. I would just like it louder than what it is now. By next summer my car is going to be show car, so I wanted to be kind of loud. It would be cool to enter some small sound comps. also.

Speedy 718- they are dual 4ohms, dc resistance 1.84ohms

yeah 150 all day just hurts, i usually listen to my stereo at half vol. b/c im to lazy to constantly change sub vol. b/c people want to hear it loud. I did a 149.9 @ 47hz with me standing outside of the car with one type-r 15" and a decent amount of power, it is all about the install whether or not you will get a high score at a low note. at a high note im sure a cavy would like it seeing i lost to one at world finals would be easier then it is at a low note, so in other words it is going to take alot of trial and error if you wish to see a 150 any time soon.

Here's my stats page for anyone wondering...hehe

http://www.termpro.com/asp/competitorstats.asp?Competitor_ID=18976&Season=2005

On the old hydrophones Ill do legal 156s/157s all day long. Outlaw is nipping at 160s... Port wars you dont want to even know....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif The problem with those hydrophones is that they are inconsistant as hell. The TL pressure sensor is soooo much more wonderfully consistant - and about 6dB down from the old hydros.
