I wake up this morning thiking I should get me a upgraded sub, so I went out shopping and got me a Rockford P3 12" I had install on the same box that I used for my CVR12 and guess what? no PUNCH!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif the CVR12 sounded way better and all because of my Amp *cheap *** sony 2 channel amp* yes i know you told me so .... anyway ....... I play with the gains and did not work I did everything and still had no positive result so I'm back where i was last night .... I might try next time a CVR15 what do you think? I'm selling my sony amp to get me a Hifonics or something decent but need to sell my amp first for 150.00 at least .....

is that box sealed. if so that could be ahlf the problem

that box looks like a sealed prefab. Get a bigger ported box and it will make a big difference.

dont have any experience with the P3, but possibly the small sealed box was more suited to the CVR?

try building a box for the P3 before mqking a comparison.

if all else fails, maybe just sell it and buy a nicer amp for the CVR.

The amp I have puts the CVR to the test it sound just right but like all of us I wanted something louder and better

today while I was testing it I got the felling the CVR kick harder

I had a pair of 10" Kicker Comps in 1cf apiece, tuned to 34hz, powered by a Hifonics BX605 @ 2 ohms.... so they were getting under 300w. They were louder and cleaner than my friend's 12" P2's in the RF prefab on 900w.

not sure why anybody would expect much of an upgrade from a cvr to a p3..

but yeah try it ported first and then make a better upgrade later

I got the sealed box spec from the manual that came on the CVR, is that ok to use?
