I think I'm in over my head with this Alpine HU!

I've come to the conclusion that I have been out of the car audio game for way too long. I've been messing with this Alpine CDA-9813 for half of the night, and I simply don't get it!

Maybe I'm old school, but I liked the convenience of my old CD player where I hit the button and it took me to where I could adjust the Bass up or down, and then hit the button and I could adjust the Treble up or down, then of course there is the fade and balance.

Well, this particular HU won't let you just adjust the bass or treble, you have to have some knowledge of an EQ, and then all the other stuff with this.

Does Alpine still make a HU that's as simple as hitting a button and being able to adjust the bass and treble, maybe the CDA-7893?

I've been out of the game too long, I just think this head unit is too much for my needs.

They all have a Bass/Treble/Fad/Balance control. On Alpine's, it's usually pressing the volume knob.

What's Eclipse HU's like? Little more user friendly...comparable in sound quality?

You should check out the Alpine CDA-7892, its fairly simple to adjust everything

the only con is the parametric EQ can be confusing

I don't want an EQ with my HU, that's the thing. Is there any quality HU out there that has simple functions, such as bass and treble controls...I don't mind some "enhancing" feature, like my old Alpine had the "BBE" feature that was adjustable...that was nice.

well you dont necessarily have to use the eq

my alpine has it but i dont use it

im also a fan of simplicity

well u could use the one button. can't remember what its called. ****. on pioneer head units it changes ur type of music. rock, xbass, natural, custom, etc. if ur alpine has it

Eclipses are very user friendly and have better sound quality IMO.

u could get a screen HU, da*n there easy to use. otherwise just go play with them at stores, see what U like.

Some of the RF HU's are pretty simple, plus most of them have great sound, especially if you have a nice 4-channel to pair it with.
