I'm just so confused at what to do with my type R's right now... What is a good tuning freq. to put them at? I mean they are SPL subs so would 40hz be a good idea? Or would 34hz be a better idea? Also will I get louder with one in a "PROPER box" with 1000w than two in an "IMPROPER box" at 1600w....

I really really want to get as loud as possible with these subs... That why I bought them... I just need to know IF I need to go buy more wood, or if I need to spend time trying to make a design trying to use the entire trunk...

Thanks... Please no *****ing about if R's sound good or not... B/c that seems to come up in every type R thread.... Also I want a nice straight forward answer that answers MY question... No alternatives please.

Thank you!

If you need to get loud with your subs...

Find a spec sheet that shows you at what Freq the subs top out on...

Build a box to that freq...

Sure your going to lose out on the low end, but you've got Bass

go buy 3 sheets of mdf and build your way in to what you want. it's the only way.
No money?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif But yeah... thats what I would do... plus I have pleanty of time over winter break...

steal it then. you are never going to get what you want to hear by creating a thread about it. car audio is alot more about trial and error than it is about a one time, that's the best there is install. there is no other way when you want what's the best to your ears.

How about theoretically?
BTW: the "improper box" tuned at 33hz...
theoretically? 1 sub in a "proper" box. i already made my trial and error known in your earlier thread by stating the 2 sealed got louder than 1 ported in numerous box builds.

wow anotther thread? lol we already told you what to do. since you dnt have room for 2 in a ported box then build a sealed box to spec for the 2. you need atleast 4.5 to go ported and maybe 2.5-3.0 on the large side to go sealed. if thats right for sealed im not sure but just say 1.5 per sub sealed.

yeah. larger is better. they recommend .85/sub, but that's to save them on their warranty. smaller box is easire on the sub, but is too small to perform very well. 1.25-1.5 per sub is better.

lol .85 wouldnt hit lows at all. probably would rip the cone to shreds on a good 1,000 watts. miker can you fit 3.0 cubes sealed? if you can then get to cutting!
