i put a hole in a brand new cdt component speaker

i put a screwdriver thru the cone in one of my 6.5 component speakers while mounting it to the door.is it a good idea to fix it somehow?or will it sound like crap even if i fix it?its a perfectly round hole from a phillips screw driver.ive read other posts and heard rubber cement,silicone and other products work good.whats the best way to do this?

If you can use the same type of material that the cone is made of, just make a patch.

Is the hole through the surround or cone? If its the surround then just put some silicone behind it and it will be fine

i put a drill thru a walmart sub and took it back and was like wtf lol got my money back. thru the surround by the way

you effed up, that is what happened.

but like I said, just make a small patch and use some Aleene's Clear Tacky gel and call it a day.
