i Pod denial (ramble with cliffs)

Well, I have been resisting buying an i Pod for a long time because I dont want to spend my time DLing music and such. I really dont buy CD's anymore, and just listen to what I have (most is pretty old... like a year or 2 at least) I just assume listen to the radio. Local station plays pretty much everything I like (89xradio.com) kind of a modern alternative/rock station. While I wouldnt mind having my choice of what music I hear and when I hear it, the only time I have headphones in is when I am at the gym and just assume to not mess with anything other than working out. Now, the dilema.........

I went on a buisness trip and came home with a company gift.... a new i pod shuffle, and some cooler bag with speakers and a little amp (weird huh?) I know the i Pod doesnt have a FM Tuner so I already dont want it LOL. BUT then the wife chimes in, and says SOB, I got you one for your birthday on Friday. What to do what to do....... As stated, I really dont want to start DLing music, wife and daughter have Zunes but I dont care to put any of their music on anything Id listen to on a regular basis. Supposedly, the one they got me has a tuner, and I know it is much smaller than the walkman I clip on me at the gym... Perhaps Ill try it out for a bit and add some selective music to it. Is there a good place to find music on line? Im talking song by song, not complete CD's. I really dont feel like paying a boatload of money to load up one of these things!

CLIFFS:

Got a little i Pod as a gift from work

Wifes pissed cause she got me one for my B Day

I really dont want either of them because I dont want to start DLing music

what to do what to do

yah thats the easy solution, def sell the shuffle, but the gift, I think Id take a lot of $hit if I returned it.. Its not very often the wife actually buys me something, in fact, i busted her chops for it not too long ago because all I ever get is... "you know where the money is, go have fun" So, now she decides to buy me a gift, knowing I WAS looking at them in the past few months but decided not to get one. O well.....

Itunes is free, you only pay for the songs you want and its super fast. I dont see the problem....

make a playlist at home that you would listen to at the gym and bam! your own personalized radio station... you wont have to touch it.

I havent bought a cd in like 5 yrs. I have an Ipod with an Alpine X100 and just let it play, my daughter has a playlist, I have clean playlists and stuff I can play when shes not in the car.... easy as pie man.

The only time consuming thing would be making playlists but if you do it by genre its pretty fast too...

I was in your shoes not that long ago. I didn't really want one, than my wife got me one for Christmas. I didn't want to download all that stuff either, but a few a day and now I actually really like having it. I use it in my car all the time. Hardly ever use the headphones, but use it in the car everyday. I still do buy CD's though.
