i-pod conect w/ Alpine HU

can someone explain the ipod conectivity with the Alpine HU's? is it just a simple headphone jack connected to the ipod, or can i control the ipod through my HU. thanks

if you have the 420i Ipod Interface, you can controll your ipod directly thru your headunit(if its ai-net compatible)

the new '06 Alpine's use the "full speed" connection which only requires the new Alpine Ipod cable which installs to a factory supplied connector; Pre '06 requires the 420i interface module & cable to be installed.
