I pod cable

I bought an i pod cable but i have no directions it has two wires coming from it a red and black. i take it the Black is a ground. were do i hook the red?

the switched 12 volt wire i beleive. make sure its a wire thats only on when the key is in and switched on, or else youll drain the battery.
