Misconduct in Office : 7/31/2008
Who was the defendant in a drug case that the fired narcotic officer(s) had ****** conduct with? This fact should have been investigated and reported on by the Aiken Standard. This sounds like a coverup surely SLED would have issued an arrest warrant upon learning this information. What did the Aiken Standard investigation and report say about this fact and who was the reporter?

Corrupt Cop : 7/31/2008
Gainey is just one example of corrupt cops in the Aiken County Sheriffs Office. We have seen deputies lie or tell half-truths while under oath just to make their cases stick. Due to the lack of education and judgement they arrest people at the drop of the hat whenever they receive an allegation and fail to recognize if there is any real evidence. That's why about 70% of all cases get dismissed and our court docket is so backed up. In like manner, when it's someone they like, such as the four fired narcotics cops who clearly should have been charged with misconduct in office, etc. and the evidence is there, they turn a blind eye to issuing an arrest warrant. The lack of formal education and judgement at the upper levels has seriously hurt the reputation of this organization and cost taxpayers thousands of dollars in unnecessary expenses.
