It happened. They took the pic, but the ambulance was a little ways back in traffic. My bro-in-law pulled up and over like others were doing, but he was first in line and actually had to pull through the intersection. I never saw the pic, but I don't think the ambulance was visible.
And the company New Orleans and the surrounding area is using is out of New Zealand. They WANT people to just pay the ticket because it costs MORE to fight it. Like I said, it's not about law & order, it's about $$$.

Now I will say this: These "Scam Cams" are new in my area and it's possible that there are bugs that will be worked out (like my sister who got one going under a yellow light). Maybe issues like this will be addressed in the future if enough people complain. But I doubt it.

No, my sis was in the city and my bro-in-law I believe was in Metairie somewhere.

But as for the Causeway patrol, F them. My job takes me across the Causeway bridge almost every day. I hate how those **** cops speed up and down 90MPH but get you for doing 67. Since the whole Eddie Price thing, they've been being extra dickish because the new chief is apparently busting balls. 'sWhat I heard, anyway.

For anyone curious, Eddie Price is the mayor of Mandeville, La. He was caught driving drunk on the Causeway bridge (longest bridge in the world). He actually crashed through a police barrier and didn't even know it. Then the cops let him call his son and let him go. Covered it up.

Well if you go to court, just plead no contest with a right to explain yourself. Sometimes they cut the fee in half or wave court costs and or points on the DL.

If you plead not guilty, like the one dude said, you will have another court date and then they will try to get the cop there and if he shows you will be screwed and eventually pay way more than what the ticket cost, plus the points. Not worth it in the end.

Just chalk it up to a cop trying to meet a quota. Shit happens, is unfortunate, but happens.

Also if you do get out of it, he will remember you. Could make your life very uncomfortable, just a FYI.

i'm gonna go to the court and tell them the truth. i didnt think without proof he could do anything but wasnt sure and arguing with a cop on the street isnt gonna get me anywhere. like i said, this being my first offense i cannot ****ing BELIEVE he would try to pull this shit on me... wtf. i have lost faith in this country when even the cops are dirty rotten liars.

Yo, F that! It's much worse when someone is supposed to be working a job to protect and serve the public and totally fvcks someone over on purpose.

"learn to deal with it?" It's because of people like you that these guys get away with it. I'd say at least 50% of the cops that I've had encounters with were a-holes. 100% of them had power trips.

That sucks hoxie! Hope you win in court with the officer there! You can probably call the police station and make a formal complaint so it's on record. Make sure you say "FORMAL COMPLAINT" otherwise they fake like they are taking a real complaint but brush it off.

Maybe ask if the court could have a copy of the cruiser tape. They might tape over those, you should try that sooner than later. I think those run more than when just the lights are on. Think of all those funny cop vid clips like this one:

That sucks that happened to you dude. But exactly this isn't Russia.

How do you think things get that bad in a country. It's when people just tell themselves to just brush it off in a situation like this and over the years it escalates to beatings when you don't give the cops money. It all starts somewhere.

There's also a direct correlation of corruption and the wealth of a country. There's always going to be more corruption in a poor country vs a wealthy country like the US.
