I noticed a lot of people are running 1kwrms+... what upgrade have you done?

I'm running 650 RMS and that's IT as of now. My lights are dimming when I play certain songs so I always keep it turned down low. Now, I look around the forums and see folks who are running a pair of 1200 watt amps or a single 1800 watt amp, etc...

What upgrades have you done? I've done nothing, stock batt, stock alt, stock alt wires, etc... I'm just curious what you folks have done to make your charging system suffice for the power you are pushing? If possible, can you list the power of your alternator?

As I said, I'm dimming at 650 RMS in a 93 grand am w/ 100 amp alt.

look up the big three. thats the first step. that alone can help with your dimming.

hah no alternator yet cause i dont know about future car plans, but 2000 rms, 2 jl 1000/1's 3 batteries, usually charge them every 2 weeks just to keep a lil pressure off the alt...

Are you using a class "d" amp??? I have a stock 83amp alto and a small @ss battery under the hood and Im running an orion 2500D with a little dimming //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

What kind of a difference does it make if they are both under the hood as compared to one under hood and one in the back?

Im running (2) 1250.1 Kicker amps. 2500 RMS...

all I have is just an extra battery... I dont have any light dimming... I dont have ANY voltage drop... nothing at all... I stay at 14.4 volts... the whole time.

EXCEPT for burps... then I drop down to mid 13's

none, just 0 awg to the rear with three 4 awg from the t block, not too much dimming.
