LOL at the TL only being useful for SPL purposes. TLs are for providing extension while simultaneously relieving the system of any resonant character, provided they are built correctly. They're as efficient as a sealed enclosure for the same driver. Sometimes less, if they are stuffed for a critically damped alignment, due to the added mass.

Nice find with the spiral port Dan, I vaguely remember those from a horn site years ago.

I've actually pondered things like this...the spiral is the most efficient, symetrical and geometrical means of transport or movement for anything. The act of the "spin" allows for a natural acceleration, per se, of said "object."

Think of the way a turbo works or the manner in which smoke or vapor enters the air or atmosphere...it's a natural spiraling motion.

The same could work for sound as well, and with sound there's no mass, so think of what the possibilities could be with sound...
