I am trying to install a pioneer Deh-245 am-fm CD in dash stereo into my wife's 87 Jeep Cherokee. When bought it came with an after market Sony CD stereo with it's special quick connect wiring harness. I have tried to cross splice but the colors don't match up after about six wires. Where do I go from here to match up with the cherokee wiring harness. Are quick connect harness' out there to match up to my Pioneer to the 87 cherokee? Or, is there a cross reference wiring guide to use with the harness from the sony to cherokee where I can splice in? Any help would be appericated!!

Often times the factory harness noes not have everything that your deck has so seperate wiring is sometimes needed..If you arent running an amp then dont worry about the remote turn on or the power antenna leads..If you are gonna run an amp you will need to run those wires..Either way the factory harness should have constand and accessory power and you can use the ground provided but I would ground it elsewhere due to the size of the factory one.. All speaker wires should match up..On the harness adapter the wires should be labeled you just have to bust out the magnifying glass to read sometimes.

as it seems, this is the general color wiring for most cars..

battery/memory orange black

ign yello

fr+ light green

fr- dark green

fl+ tan

fl- grey

rr+ dark blue

rr- l blu

rl+ brown

rl- yello

park lite grey and brown--1 may b a dimmer circuit, test carefully or do not use

earth black

there may be a green white wire-- do not use or ground---insulate it , cos i think it cocks up the speedo.

i got this a while back, someone else posted it and it was true for my car, and others i have worked on...hope it helps:)

Yup , the dsp should have input sections, it may have one for sub? Hu to dsp. Dsp to amps, amps to speakers. Probably help you to draw this all...

If you can find these in your area. Id recommend these for drop ins. They play from 40Htz on up. Sound very nice on amplified power for premium...
